2. CLIENT SUBMISSIONS & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
- Ownership: Clients retain full ownership and copyright of any manuscripts, documents, or data they submit to us for editing.
- Client Responsibility: You warrant that you own or have the necessary permissions for all content you submit. You agree not to submit any material that violates third-party intellectual property rights, is plagiarized, or violates any laws.
- Oakpine Intellectual Property: The Website structure, logo, design, text, and graphics are the exclusive property of Oakpine LP and may not be reproduced without written permission.
3. FEES, PAYMENT, AND REFUNDS
- Pricing: Fees for copyediting, proofreading, or conference registration are calculated based on the project scope, document type, word count, or specific event tiers.
- Payment Terms: Payment details and billing information must be provided accurately prior to the commencement of work.
- Refund Policy: Due to the digital and customized nature of editing services, refunds are generally not provided once work has commenced. If you are unsatisfied with the quality of the service, you must submit a formal complaint within 10 days of delivery.
4. ACCURACY AND ACADEMIC INTEGRITY
- Plagiarism & Ghostwriting: Oakpine does not write papers, generate core academic content, or engage in ghostwriting. Our Services are strictly limited to improving English language quality, style, flow, and formatting.
- No Guarantee of Publication: While our partnering copyediting services aim to ensure the highest quality for journal acceptance, Oakpine does not guarantee that your edited manuscript will be accepted for publication by any journal or publisher. The final decision rests entirely with the respective journal editors and reviewers. Note that if the submitted work is not approved due to reasons that correspond to our work (language, format, coherence), you get a free re-edit.
5. CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVACY
- Data Protection: We treat all submitted manuscripts and project details as strictly confidential. Your documents will not be shared with third parties outside our editing network.

8. PAYMENTS AND SECURITY
All payments made using the card are processed through the electronic payment platform of “Nexi XPay” of Nexi Payments Greece S.A. and uses TLS 1.2 encryption protocol encryption with 128-bit (Secure Sockets Layer – SSL). Encryption is a way of coding the information until it reaches its recipient, who will be able to decode it using the appropriate key.
9. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Greece / the European Union, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Amaliada, Greece.
